Lemuel H. Walker, Jr.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1972, Lem started working as a Penn Mutual agent with his Father, Hacky. Together, they formed Walker & Walker and built a very successful insurance and employee benefits business. He was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, winner of the National Quality award for 39 consecutive years, and was named “Agent of the Year” in 1979 and 1985. Lem married his high school sweetheart Joanne Blackmore. They have two children and one grandchild. After 43 years of service to his clients and community, Lem retired and currently resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
L. Harrall (Hacky) Walker (1925 – 2008)
Hacky began his insurance career at the age of 23 and served his clients and the Spartanburg community for over 50 years before retiring at the age of 75. Through the years he earned dozens of accolades and was a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and winner of the National Quality award for 47 consecutive years. A 1949 graduate of the University of South Carolina, he played Gamecock basketball under Coach Frank Johnson in 1946 and 1947. Hacky was married to the former Betty Ruth Stephens of Pacolet for 59 years. Together they have 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
